Captcha,s fooling us as well as computers
Hey evryone, is just me or are those captchas (those forms with letters you have to copy) getting too hard to read, I know they are there to fool computer programs but some of them are ridicously hard to read. Those ones that look like little Jackson Pollack paintings are the worst, i was trying to join a forum the other day and they had of pollacks paintings and it took me soo long to get it right.
It looks like help might be on the way though as I saw Steve Gibson (the computer security guru guy) on tv the other day. he was saying he was sick of the difficult ones too, and was working with a new idea for password login. It would be based on the Paypal model. You would have a single pasword at secure server and when you go to a website the site would got to the secure server to authenticate you. Which would also elimate the need for all the different passwords we have to remmber today. I,m not sure if this is the same thing windows is trying as about a month before xmas they asked me for a password for what they called "windows live" they said this could be used at websites using "windows live" So far I have not been to a site that has ask for it yet. Hopefully they will come up with some thing workable soon,
